Tribute to an old friend |

| It took some very hard persuading, but I finally got
him there! The lovely Eddie Powell and I at the Manchester Festival. I think you'll have to agree that this picture shows just how happy he was to have been there. When I first put it to him in '98 he was quite adamant that he really didn't want to do it. "Speaking" was not one of his favourite pastimes! Eddie always said he was better at the action stuff, but he had a never-ending supply of eventful and interesting stories to tell. I am so very glad that some of them at least are now on record for people interested in the genre to share. A man I respected as a personal friend for more than 30 years, and a fellow artist who was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. In loving memory of Eddie Powell. Janina August 11th 2001 |
